- Put the following information on each of the six shapes:

- Add illustrations, color and details to make it more attractive.
- Use a fastener to join all the shapes together. Make sure the title is on top.

- Choose one part of the book that you would like to illustrate.
- Color the inside back of the box, or glue pictures to it for your background.
- Make objects and characters for your scene. Cut them out making sure to
leave a small flap on the bottom that can be folded back and glued to the
bottom of the box.
- Arrange all the pieces and glue them into place.
- On a piece of writing paper write a short paragraph about what is happening
in your scene. Glue this to the outside back of the box.

- Fold your paper in fourths so that it looks like a fan.
- Put the following information on each panel:

9. Make an Old-Fashioned Movie

Materials Needed:
• Shoe box
• 2 dowels (or pencils)
• Long sheet of drawing paper fitted to the dimensions of the shoebox.
• Crayons
• Tape

Directions:
- On the inside of the shoe box lid, use your pencil and ruler to draw and cut out a rectangle the size that you want your movie screen to be.
- Poke four holes into the shoebox, 2 at the top, and 2 at the bottom. The holes should be just big enough for your dowels (pencils) to fit through.
- Divide up your drawing paper into squares for your scenes (like a comic strip). Leave about 2 inches between each square.
- Illustrate each event in the squares in the order that they happened.
- Put the dowels through the holes in the box. Tape the top 2 inches of the movie
strip to the top of one of the dowels. Tape the bottom 2 inches to the other
dowel.
- Carefully roll the bottom dowel so that the movie strip winds around the dowel.
- Put the lid back on the shoebox.
- Turn the top dowel and watch your movie!
